Donald Keith is Deputy Chief Executive of FTSE Group (“FTSE”) and has been with the company since 1999. Donald has overall responsibility for developing FTSE’s business across the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Donald began his FTSE career directing the company’s sales, marketing and client services functions in Europe, growing FTSE's business in the UK, France, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. In 2001, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Executive and since then has focused on building FTSE’s business globally.
Under his leadership, FTSE has substantially expanded its offering to international investors to include a comprehensive set of indexing services for its range of asset classes, geographies and investment strategies. He leads FTSE’s initiatives in developing its business in the important Chinese market, has overseen FTSE’s entry into new markets including the Middle East, India and Australia, as well as heading up the development of partnerships between FTSE and Asian Exchanges.
Donald also has responsibility for developing FTSE’s Custom and Responsible Investment businesses, as well as growing FTSE’s relationships with Asset Owners and Sovereign Wealth Funds globally.
Donald holds a degree in Law from Cambridge University, and is a regular speaker for FTSE at financial conferences around the world.
Stuart Leckie Chairman, Stirling Finance Limited Senior Advisor, FTSE Group
Stuart Leckie is based in Hong Kong and advises on investments and pensions in Asia. He is the author of books titled “Pension Funds in China” and “Investment Funds in China”. He is the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association and acts as a trustee of a number of retirement schemes.
Mr. Leckie worked in life insurance in the UK before moving to Hong Kong in 1979. He served as the Chairman of Watson Wyatt in Asia - Pacific and as Chairman of Fidelity Investments, Asia-Pacific. He advises the Chinese Government on pensions reform. He is also significantly involved in the development of stock market indices in Asia and has become particularly associated with the QFII and QDII programmes, including working with the FTSE Group in an advisory capacity.
Mr. Leckie was the President of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (1981 and 1999) and was the first Chairman of the International Actuarial Association’s China Committee. He advised the Hong Kong Government on the establishment of the Mandatory Provident Fund. Additionally, he has served on various committees in Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, and was a Director of Exchange Fund Investment Limited, which launched the highly successful Tracker Fund. He is a member of the CFA Institute Advisory Council.
Simon Gleave Regional Head, Financial Services KPMG China
Simon is the Asia Pacific Regional Head of Financial Services and partner in charge of Financial Services for China. He has been working in Beijing since 2001 and has been involved in the IPO projects of China Construction Bank and CITIC Bank, and most recently China Everbright Bank as well as the reorganization and disposal of distressed assets within banks across Europe and Asia. He has worked in assisting a number of banks and other financial institutions in transforming their finance and business practices during the restructuring and reform prior to accessing capital markets.
Simon acts as the lead partner for a number of Chinese clients listed in the US as well as the Hong Kong stock market.
Simon was also the engagement partner for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority Consultancy Study on the Hong Kong banking sector providing recommendations to improve market regulation, which included interest rate deregulation and deposit protection.
Simon has also focused on a number of clients with securities operations, including, broking, trading and market arbitrage. Specific projects have included acquisition due diligence, compliance and operations reviews and fraud investigation. |
