Annual China Tax Conference 2008
2008 has been an important year for China and a milestone in the history of the China tax system. This year, the new Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Law and its Detailed Regulations, which have significant implications for investments in China, came into effect. In addition, the Chinese government authorities have recently issued a number of tax and foreign exchange regulations that may also have a major impact on business in China.
In view of the recent turmoil in the financial markets worldwide as well as the uncertainty of the global economy, we expect the tax authorities to increase their tax-audit efforts in order to maintain tax revenues. Consequently, companies doing business in China need to be familiar with recent tax-regulation changes and anticipated indirect tax reform proposals in China, as well as understand how these may influence their effective tax burdens. Furthermore, companies need to be able to recognise and secure tax-planning opportunities.
At this year's Annual China Tax conference, leading tax professionals from KPMG China will highlight recent tax and regulatory developments, discuss economic changes and forthcoming regulations, as well as provide insight on planning opportunities. The conference's major topics are:
- A review of 2008 tax developments
- Anticipated changes in 2009
Seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select and register a session by 31 October 2008.
